South Miami Lutheran Pre-school

South Miami Lutheran School endeavors to provide a Christian environment in which a child is disciplined within Christian principles.

Our only form of discipline for both the classroom and playground is "time-alone". "Time-alone" means that the child is separated from the group (a designated area within the classroom) for a short period of time. He/she stays on "time-alone" until he/she can calm down and stop the disruptive behavior. If the disrup­tive behavior continues, the child will be sent to the office to visit the director. Usually one trip to the office will solve the problem. Howev­er, if the disruptive behavior persists, the parents will be called and a conference will be scheduled.

We believe that children should be treated with re­spect and kindness. We believe that children are our greatest resources and our future. Thus, a child will always be treated with fairness and honesty.
