Child Care Center
1) When dropping off your child in our program, you must sign in your child and put down the time of arrival according to the clock on the wall. The same procedure applies for picking up your child in the afternoon. Your signature (or the signature of whomever you authorize to pick up your child) and the time are required every day that your child is in our program. This protects your child. When you sign in your child, he/she becomes our responsibility. When you sign him/her out, he/she becomes your responsibility. Remember, only authorized people can pick up your child. There will be a sign-in book in each room. Please look for the page that has your child's name on it, and then sign him/her in or out of our child care center. Because billing is done from these sheets, it is very important that you sign your name and time every day your child is here.
2) In the afternoon we require that all children rest. We have quiet resters, where the child is asked to lay down on his/her mat with a book. And we have nappers, where the child lay down on his/her mat and sleep.
The school provides the mat for your child. You must provide two small crib-size sheets or lightweight beach towel. One sheet is used to cover the mat and the other to cover the child. The bedding must go home every Friday to be washed, and brought back on Monday. Please put the bedding in the plastic box provided by the school, with your child's name on the bedding. Please do not send in big, bulky blankets and pillows, as we do not have sufficient storage space for them.
3) Each child is assigned a cubbyhole. Please encourage your child to put his/her lunch box and belongings into his/her own cubbyhole. When picking up your child, please pick up his/her belongings, school work, and any school communications (letters, calendars, billing notices, etc.)
4) Please do not allow your child to bring to school any personal belongings except on their specific show and tell day as designated by your child's teacher. Also, please put your child's name on these items.
5) Since your child will be staying for lunch, you agree to follow the Alternate Lunch Program set up by H.R.S. as outlined below in this handbook. You must provide a healthy and nutritious lunch which must consist of a balanced diet. If your child has an eating problem or food allergy, please let us know. Your child's good eating habits will be reinforced by daily eating good, nutritious lunches. A good lunch is a sandwich, fruit, or vegetable, dessert (NOT CANDY), and a thermos of milk or juice. If your child does not care for sandwiches, you may send in soups or other meals in wide-mouth thermoses. Or you may choose to buy hot lunch from the school.
6) Please label all of your child's belongings (lunch boxes, bedding, etc.) with his/her name in permanent ink or marker, to lessen the chances of items being lost. We are not responsible for lost clothing.
