Our School

The uniqueness of a Christian school is illustrated by the way Jesus received children. Surrounded by adult indifference to children, he placed them in the center of his concern. He saw them as belonging to and full participants in the world God rules. Their created and inherent responsiveness and openness to the things of God, which are every where and both visible and invisible, is to be seen by adults as worthy of emulation. Children are to be blessed and touched by the hands of love.

The behavior of Jesus in relation to children prefigures much of what modern studies have revealed about how "self-esteem" is nourished, learning attitudes encouraged and values such as love and service, essential for building community, are empowered.

 It is our purpose to extend the ministry of Jesus to all of God's children.

"And they were bringing children to him, that he might touch them; and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it he was indignant, and said to them, "Let the children come to me, do not hinder them; for to such belong the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it." And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands upon them." Mark 10:13-16
